Built For Life On The Farm
Overview
Built for a family with young children on a farm near Wānaka, this home takes the form of two interconnected gables, clad in pre-finished metal and vertical cedar weatherboard. Cedar's light hue lets the home blend into the landscape, while board-formed concrete, used both inside and out, brings a rugged, refined edge, culminating in a sculpted concrete fireplace that anchors the living room. Open-plan living areas flow outdoors to take in sweeping views of Central Otago. The home went on to win a Regional Silver award at the 2024 Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards.
